Last weekend I finally saw Paris, Je Taime which is absolutely brilliant, the most visually stunning film was by Gus Van Sant, the location and lighting was beautiful. The best film by far for me was Tuileries by the Coen brothers, Steve Buscemi is just awesome.
This weekend I watched Babel, brilliant but so very depressing.

these two, as you suggest, are poles apart, both very good. I'm going to get a copy of Paris -- a fun way to practice my French and definitely a movie I could stand re-watching.
