The US pop art pioneer Robert Rauschenberg has died at the age of 82, his gallery said today.
Rauschenberg - described as a "titan" of American art by the New York Times - died on Tuesday
"I'm curious," he said in 1997, in one of the few interviews he granted in his later years. "It's very rewarding. I'm still discovering things every day."

I could post hundreds more images, Rauschenberg was a wonderful, unique artist, versatile and creative. In many way as much of an icon as his work was. He was Art Teacher gold, inspiring many of my students.

I am so sorry to hear this. I was fortunate to attend a few lectures that Rauschenberg gave. I have always enjoyed his instantly recognizable work. He certainly had a rich and fulfilling life and left an artistic legacy that will continue to inspire.
Oh I didn't know he'd died. Love him. I saw an exhibition of his a year or two ago in a really small gallery and I knew he'd been ill. Would love to have attended a lecture.
aaw, thats sad. I really like his work.
What an amazing, visionary artist. I have been lucky to have seen a number of his pieces recently at several locations in New York. Thanks for honoring him here.
